Latest Support Services News
An extract from Veterans Affairs News states the following:
“Veterans Affairs provides a range of support and services to a wide variety of Veterans.
The oldest veterans we now support served in the WWII and the youngest is just over 19 years old.
We also support many, many veterans who fall in between these two. The needs of every veteran can be different – so the service and support that we provide to each can also be different. What might be the most appropriate support can vary according to the veterans’ age, needs and the types of conditions that they are experiencing”.
So what suits one veteran may not suit another. Your Case Manager should be able to help you in this arena.
Veterans Affairs is now offering a cleaning package for 1 annual house clean, 2 annual window washes and 2 annual gutter cleans through Chemwash, to all Veterans who already receive any of these services plus to any other Veteran who requires this work. Please take advantage of this offer. Veterans who have taken up this offer are very happy with the results. They have also appointed a new medical alarm provider Redwolf to provide alarms to Veterans who need them. These will be transportable so Veterans can carry with them wherever they go.
As you will all know, Veterans Affairs have now shifted all of their operations to Wellington from Hamilton. This of course includes Case Management. So please be aware if you have not heard from your Case Manager, for a while you could find you have a new one on your next call to them.
